Virgin Hotels is expanding its US presence with two new properties planned for Atlanta and Denver in 2027. The Atlanta property, being developed with Drew Company, will be part of the 50-acre Centennial Yards development in downtown Atlanta. It will feature 261 Chambers, three food and beverage outlets, a pool deck with ten private cabanas, and dedicated event space. Virgin Hotel Denver will include a rooftop lounge, spa, and fitness facilities. The two openings will bring the group's portfolio to 19 properties across the US and UK. The Ascott Limited has marked the start of construction on Oakwood Flemington Melbourne, a 97-room apartment hotel near Flemington Racecourse. The property is expected to open in February 2028 and will cater to visitors seeking accommodation close to one of Australia's best-known sporting venues. Pace is handling development and construction, with architecture by Jackson Clements Burrows and interiors by Cera Stribley. The design will draw inspiration from the neighboring racecourse. The project adds to Ascott's Australian expansion, which includes several new Quest and Citadines properties scheduled to open during 2026. Read more

EV charging provider Roam has secured a contract to install 170 charging sockets across 14 UK hotels owned by ProsperCap. The rollout includes 158 standard 22kW sockets and 12 rapid 50kW charging points. Installation began in September 2026, with the project covering hotels operated under Hilton, IHG, and Marriott brands. Roam is funding the installations, allowing the hotels to add charging facilities without a major upfront investment. The mix of standard and rapid chargers will serve overnight guests as well as visitors who need shorter charging sessions. The project also supports ProsperCap's sustainability plans, as its hotels source electricity through renewable energy contracts. Read more

Host Hotels & Resorts reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $1.347 billion, a 1.2% increase over the same period last year. Comparable hotel revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose 8.8% to $219.50, supported by higher room rates and improved occupancy. Total RevPAR increased 7.3%, reflecting stronger food and beverage revenue. Comparable hotel EBITDA reached $331 million, up 11.4% year over year, while net income fell 56.4% to $71 million, partly due to lower gains from property sales. The company also raised its full-year RevPAR growth forecast to 6.75% and Total RevPAR growth forecast to 6%. Read more

Accor has partnered with Corinthia Group to bring five Verdi Hotels properties into its Handwritten Collection under a franchise agreement starting in November 2026. The hotels are located in Malta, Portugal, and Tunisia, with two more properties in Hungary and the Czech Republic planned for a later phase. The initial additions include Verdi Gżira Promenade, Verdi St. George's Bay Marina, Verdi Dragonara, Verdi Tunis Beach Resort, and Verdi Santarém. The partnership gives Verdi access to Accor's global distribution network, marketing resources, and loyalty program. Handwritten Collection, launched in 2023, now has more than 50 hotels across 22 countries, with a further 58 properties in its development pipeline. Read more
