Consumer advocates warned that the changes could give airlines more discretion over compensation for hotel stays, meals, and transportation after disruptions. The postponement means the existing system will remain in place through the upcoming holiday travel season. Passengers can still qualify for refunds when they decline alternative arrangements after a cancellation or significant delay. Read more
