Canada's Hotel Development Pipeline Reaches Record High
Canada's hotel construction pipeline reached a record 345 projects totaling 47,874 rooms in the second quarter of 2026, according to Lodging Econometrics. Growth was driven by a surge in early planning projects, which now account for more than half of the country's development pipeline. Ontario continues to lead hotel construction activity, followed by British Columbia and Quebec, while Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Vancouver remain the busiest development markets.
