Enseo has expanded its presence in the US casino hotel market to nearly 20,000 guest rooms across about 25 properties. The Drew Hotel Set to Open in Plymouth
Lark is opening The Drew Hotel in Plymouth, Massachusetts, following the conversion of a former rest home and historic properties. The first phase includes 25 rooms, with another 17 rooms and private event space planned for early 2027. The property dates back to the 1800s and was originally built as a captain's home. Its design includes two distinct room styles, waterfront views, a courtyard with a fire pit, and a lower-level lounge. Guests will also receive a breakfast featuring produce from the hotel's garden. HPOR Offers Hotels a Different Way to Measure Labor
Hotel operators are being encouraged to look beyond headcount when measuring labor efficiency. The article argues that Hours per Occupied Room, or HPOR, provides a clearer measure because it connects labor hours with actual room demand. H1 2026 data showed HPOR falling 3.1% at full-service hotels and 3.5% at select-service properties, while occupancy rose to 67.9% and RevPAR increased 8.9%. Position-level measures such as Minutes per Occupied Room can also show where productivity is changing.
