Hotel Polaris Uses Custom Breeze Blocks to Revisit Mid-Century Design

Hotel Polaris in Colorado Springs has introduced a custom breeze-block installation designed by BLUR Workshop for its rooftop bar and lounge. The blocks filter natural light while creating privacy between the lounge and an adjoining public corridor. After eight months of research and prototyping, the team developed a production method using 3D-printed masters and silicone molds. The finished installation uses 360 glass-fiber-reinforced concrete blocks across three walls and won a 2026 Prize Design Award. Read more
