Hyatt Expands Its Luxury Portfolio Across the Americas

Hyatt is adding several luxury properties across the Americas as it enters the final quarter of 2026. Mexico is at the center of the expansion, with Park Hyatt Riviera Maya and Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco joining Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol. The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is also growing with new properties, including The Clayfield in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Impression Isla Mujeres. Alila Mayakoba opened earlier this year, while three Grand Hyatt resorts are planned for Q4. The expansion gives Hyatt a broader luxury presence across resort and urban markets. Read more

BHOC 2026 Puts Guest Experience at the Center

The Boutique Hotel Owners Conference will return to Westlake Village, California, on October 19–20 with "The Age of Wonder" as its theme. The program focuses on how independent hotels can create experiences that stand apart as costs rise and design trends become more uniform. Sessions will cover AI, capital markets, membership clubs, retail, food and beverage, crisis response, and hotel design. The conference is designed as a small gathering where owners, operators, investors, and speakers can continue discussions outside formal sessions. Read more

Choice Hotels Adds Six Upscale Properties

Choice Hotels International has announced the opening of six properties across its Cambria Hotels and Ascend Collection brands. The additions include two Cambria hotels and four Ascend Collection properties in Colorado, Florida, Vermont, and Wisconsin. The openings expand Choice's upscale presence across a range of US markets, from Colorado Springs to Sarasota and Mishicot. Choice now has more than 300 upscale hotels operating in the US, with nearly 150 more in its pipeline. The company says owner and developer interest remains strong across the upscale portfolio. West Palm Beach Approves New Convention Center Hotel

Palm Beach County commissioners have approved an agreement with Related Ross to develop an 18-story, 400-room hotel next to the West Palm Beach Convention Center. The project is expected to allow the center to host conventions of up to 2,500 attendees, roughly twice its current capacity. The county will own the land and completed hotel, then lease the property back to Related Ross for 97 years. The developer will pay $1.1 million in annual base rent, with 3% increases each year. County officials are also preparing plans to expand the convention center from 350,000 to 750,000 square feet. Read more

Covington's Radisson Hotel Set for Hard Rock Rebrand

Covington's 18-story Radisson Hotel near the Brent Spence Bridge is set to become a 220-room Reverb by Hard Rock hotel. GenX Capital Partners and Atira Hotels are developing plans for the estimated $27 million conversion. The property will receive redesigned guestrooms and suites, a 6,000-square-foot ballroom, an upgraded gym, and a new lobby bar and restaurant. The landmark rotating restaurant, Eighteen on the Radisson, will also be redesigned as a new concept. The Reverb brand targets music fans and currently has properties in Atlanta and Hamburg, with several more planned across the US. Read more
